Still, the undefeated Star Cinema (and Viva Films) remains 'number one' when it comes to producing Filipino local films in family drama, comedy, horror and romance this year's box office. Based from independent box office tracker Box Office Mojo's official list (as of September 2013), here is this year's top 10 Filipino Box Office movie films that raked millions of tickets, most likely captured Filipino audience and the best movies yet in the Philippines. See if your bet was in!

1. IT TAKES A MAN AND A WOMAN (STAR CINEMA/VIVA)*

It Takes a Man and a Woman is a 2013 Filipino romantic comedy drama film directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. It is the third and final installment in the film series, A Very Special Love. The film was produced by Star Cinema and VIVA Films and released on a Black Saturday, March 30, 2013. Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz reprise their roles as Laida Magtalas and Miggy Montenegro respectively


2. FOUR SISTERS AND A WEDDING (STAR CINEMA)
GROSS: Php 148,716,422.50

Four Sisters and A Wedding is a 2013 Filipino romantic comedy film directed by acclaimed director Cathy Garcia-Molina. The film features Star Cinema's most prominent young actresses Bea AlonzoAngel LocsinToni Gonzaga, and Shaina Magdayao, who play four sisters attempting to stop the wedding of their younger brother, played by Enchong Dee.

3.  BAKIT HINDI KA CRUSH NG CRUSH MO? (STAR CINEMA)*
GROSS: Php 104,370,044.38

Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?  is a 2013 Filipino film adaptation of Ramon Bautista's novel of the same title. The romantic comedy film is produced by Star Cinema and is part of its 20th Anniversary presentation. It tells the story of a brainy ugly duckling girl and on how she turns into someone who's worth loving. It is the first movie team up of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim and is directed by Joyce Bernal.

4. BROMANCE: MY BROTHER'S ROMANCE (SKYLIGHT FILMS)
GROSS: Php 78,278,742.50

Bromance: My Brother's Romance is a 2013 Filipino comedy film starring Zanjoe Marudo and Cristine Reyes. It is the first foray of Skylight Films into the comedy genre and is directed by Wenn V. Deramas. The film is based on a true story  and premiered on May 15, 2013.

5. A MOMENT IN TIME (STAR CINEMA/DREAMSCAPE CINEMA)
GROSS: Php 70,511,830.63

A Moment in Time is a 2013 Filipino romantic drama film directed by Emmanuel Quindo Palo. It stars Coco Martin and Julia Montes. The film was shot in Amsterdam and other cities like Paris.[2][3] The film was produced by Dreamscape Cinema and Star Cinemaand released February 13, 2013.

6. MUST BE LOVED (STAR CINEMA)
GROSS: Php 66,094,610.00

Must Be... Love is a 2013 Filipino coming-of-age romantic comedy film directed by Dado Lumibao, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. The film was shot in many locations in Cebu and Laguna in the Philippines also in BerlinGermany. The film was produced by Star Cinema and is released nationwide on March 13, 2013.

7. TUHOG (SKYLIGHT FILMS)
GROSS: Php 25,670,138.75

Tuhog is a 2013 Filipino dark comedy film produced by Skylight Films. It stars Eugene DomingoLeo MartinezEnchong DeeEmpress Schuck, and Jake Cuenca.

8. MY LADY BOSS (GMA FILMS/ REGAL FILMS)
GROSS: Php 19,946,961.88

My Lady Boss is a Filipino romantic comedy film directed by Jade Castro, starring Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera. It is produced by GMA Films together with Regal Films. On April 8, 2013, after a series of postponed showings, it is released nationwide on July 3, 2013. 


9.  THE BRIDE AND THE LOVER (REGAL FILMS)
GROSS: Php 11,246,355.63

The Bride and the Lover is a 2013 Filipino romantic comedy film directed by Joel Lamangan, starring Lovi PoeJennylyn Mercado and Paulo Avelino.



10. RAKETEROS (HEAVEN'S BEST ENTERTAINMENT)
GROSS: Php 4,715,110.00

Raketeros is a 2013 Filipino comedy film produced by Heaven's Best Entertainment starring some of 90's comedy icons Herbert BautistaDennis Padilla, Long Mejia, Andrew E., and Ogie Alcasid. The film will open in theaters on August 7, 2013 as part of Star Cinema's 20th Anniversary presentation.

*Though 'Chinese Zodiac (grossed Php 104,878,848.13)' was officially distributed by Star Cinema locally, it has to be omitted in the list just to give way Filipino-produced films only. Chinese Zodiac should have been on the third place, followed by 'Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?' if considered.

*'It Takes A Man and A Woman' has already surpassed 'Sisterakas', now the No. 1 Topgrosser Film of All-time in the Philippine Box Office.
