By the time this song was composed, I believed we, Batch Turao 2009, were honored to firstly sing and perform the very first hymn of the school during the commencement exercises then. Zaratan Educational Institute, Inc., formerly Zaratan Rural Institute, Inc., the management and the late principal Ms. Pricila May Zaratan have decided to compose a hymn that will best describe the school's vision and mission. Through the help of Mr. Dionisio Tenepere, an alumnus and theater teacher, Ms. Zaratan came up to produce a Tagalog (with a little bit Pangasinan mix), prideful, touchy song lyrics entitled "Awit ng ZRI", now had changed to "Awit ng ZEI" with the new administration.
